About Four Limes Design

Four Limes Design creates inspirational luxury fine furniture for discerning clients. We specialise in bespoke, handmade commissions using traditional cabinet making techniques executed with meticulous craftsmanship and precision. The design of every piece is exquisitely tailored to meet a client’s vision, then made and finished to an exceptional and uncompromising standard. Four Limes Design offers clients the opportunity to commission, own and appreciate furniture that is only created once in a lifetime and that will last for generations.

Owner David Waite lives just outside of the Cathedral city of Canterbury in rural Kent with his wife and two children. He has had a passion for woodwork and furniture making since school days and has continued to develop and refine these skills and accept commissions for clients whilst also pursuing a successful career in Science over the past two decades.

In 2016 David took a year’s sabbatical at the world renowned ‘Waters and Acland Furniture School’ in the Lake District studying furniture design and generating new pieces for his portfolio. Several of these pieces are being exhibited at the prestigious Cheltenham Craft and Design Show. David is also a successful author having had a series of furniture making articles published in ‘Furniture and Cabinetmaking’ magazine.

In 2017 David decided to create the luxury hand-crafted furniture business ‘Four Limes Design’. Its remit is to offer discerning clients the opportunity to commission, own and appreciate fine furniture that is created only once in a lifetime and that will last for generations.
