Dune box was inspired by the sand dunes in the desert, and the amazing ripples and flowing curves that can be found when mountains of sand are shaped and sculpted by the wind. A myriad of colours can be found in the unique undulating yew box lid ranging from deep violet to fiery orange and red. The sculpted appearance is the result of a unique construction technique where strips of yew are first shaped and then combined and moulded around a former to generate the amazing three-dimensional undulation effect. Oiled ripple sycamore used in the rest of the box provides a beautiful complement to the yew and a shimmering effect to whole the piece. The special box was featured in Furniture and Cabinet Making magazine in 2017.
